I'm buying my first set of rims for my 2001 Mustang. I like the Bullitt wheels a lot but am having a hard time making a decision. I'm definitely on a budget and can't spend over $1K.

I'm trying to decide between the Anthracite, Black, or Matte Black Bullitts.

My car is a 2001 BLACK V6. I'm sure both would look great on black- whether it's the Anthracite on black or black on black. What do you all think?

Also should I get 17x8 or 17x9? Keep in mind I'm on a budget. Thanks all for your help!

 

Get yourself a staggered set. $1k budget should be more than enough. Have you looked into American Muscle with the forum discount?

 

I'm running anthracite 17x9s but they were there when I bought the car so I can't speak for the price.

Those are OEM 17x8s bud. OP, go with 17x9s all around with 275/40/17 tires so you can rotate...

At least 2 aren't OEM. The paint shades are different.

 

Thanks for telling me about the discount! I think I'm going to go with black-probably be the matte black. It's the new design and there aren't any reviews/customer pictures which I'm a little apprehensive about but the stock pics look great.

I've been looking at 17"s but 18"s are just a little bit more so it's tempting- what do you all think? Again, I have a V6 and am not doing any racing or anything. I'd like to rotate my tires so I'm not interested in a staggered set..

 

got the same car as urs and i got chrome 03 cobras deep dish. staggered wheels make the car look so much better.

 

I hate black wheels because you can't see them. I'd go with silver or anthracite.

Not a new edge but still a sn95 with black I'd say chrome. Only a handful of black cars can pull off black rims unless they have the chrome lip. Theses are saleen replicas

 

I'm going to throw in my vote for FR500's. Completely unbiased.

I would not go Matte on a black car. I've had matte wheels, and I would not tell anyone to share that fate. :-P

My vote is for anthracite, but they will just look stock.

 

I would go with 18" anthracite. At least it looks a little different that a stock wheel.
