Thanks... One thing I never liked about the current Mustang is the bulky grill. It was the first change I did to my car. The grill that I bought is available several places. It came with the tri-bar in the center. I moved it to the right, Shelby style.

I really like it... It gives my car a great sound, but doesn't drone on at freeway speeds, unlike some other mufflers. The only draw back is I have to be carful of the side exit portion since it does hang down about 3". It does scrape on large speed bumps and other severe angles (like ramp transitions in my parking garage at work). But I still like the looks of it....

Yep... I live near Mukilteo, between Seattle and Everett. The second pic is from the Port Orchard Show....
Ah. My best friend's wife is from Mukileto. I was up there for their wedding. I'm an (So.) Oregon boy myself. I like it up there. A little too much concrete in the Seattle metro area though.

I was going to say the same thing, looks like Port Orchard waterfront area. I went to a couple of shows there on the waterfront, the local Mustang Club there represents well. I was stationed in Silverdale Washington before here. Good to see more Pacific cars.

Hey All,
First off, my name's Dave, and I'm an al.........A-L-A-B-A-M-A F-A-N !!
(Hey, gots to stay in GOOD with the Webmaster) :worship:

No, but seriously folks, my name's Dave and I'm from (well living) in the Atlanta, GA metro area (actually grew up in the Birmingham area). I've known Brad from 'stangnet for quite some time now (actually, way back in his "if I can just talk her into marrying me" days).

He was gracious enough to feature our latest Mustang (a M/G '01 Cobra coupe) on his site in the "Mustang timeline" area, so the way I see it, I'd kinda look foolish if I wasn't even courteous enough to join the forums here, right ?
Anyway, enough babble............ here's the car and there's a link to some more in the sig.

Thanks, Brad !!

AFBLUE's Air Force Blue Mustang.

As one might guess, I'm in the Air Force. :usa:

Although the official Ford color is Moonlight Blue, I remember back in the mid 1990's the USAF would buy Moonlight Blue Ford Tauruses as staff cars. They didn't repaint them the normal matte USAF blue because they were already pretty close in color (hence the reason I refer to it as AF Blue).

I really liked the minimalist (less is more) look of the Bullitt and started moding my car after it (wheels, gas cap, and spoiler deleted)

Mark, who did your supercharger? Is there a specific shop you go to in San Antonio? Car looks sharp by the way. Good Job.

HP Motorsports at Omaha, NE (stationed at Offutt) installed my Vortech in Jun 01. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't. First I requested the SQ-superquiet version (to run steathly). Vortech sent an older non SQ version. They begrudgingly sent the SQ after 5 months. It also ran extremely rich. I didn't know this until I had it dynoed and was very disappointed (only 41 rwhp gain). Well my seat of the pants was disappointed too. Vortech sent a new fuel managment unit (FMU) but it didn't solve the problem (another $100 down the tube at the dyno shop to verify the problem wasn't solved). Vortech had no answer or solution for this problem. Their technical department was rather unhelpful. It was almost like, "hey you bought it, you figure it out" So I did.

A year has now passed and I'm getting ready to PCS (move to my next base) so I need some resolution. The guy at the dyno shop says he can fix the problem with a reprogramable computer chip from a company called Dastek. So I plop down another $1000 for the chip and time on the dyno to tune it. I did gain another 37hp for a total of 88 rwhp, which was better than the Vortech advertised 75hp.

The car also runs quit a bit hotter after the install. Before install, the needle ran between "R" and ""M" in "NORMAL". After the install it ran between the M and the A.

Also, when HP installed the fuel pump they apparently didn't do the wiring correctly because I went through 2 T-rex fuel pumps.
I was in Norfolk over this past summer when the second quit working. I took it to a mustang performance place in Virginia Beach and they figured out that the wiring was shorting out (hence the reason for the failure of the 1st two pumps). They fixed it and no problems since.

Here in San Antonio, I have taken my car to HOT Rod Store. They have just done minor stuff for me like install a new thermostat (to address heat problem), a tri-axe shifter, and steeda springs. No complaints so far.

Sorry for the long winded post, but I wanted to let you know my experience with Vortech. Maybe I'm the exception to the rule, but I wouldn't recommend them. In the end it was cheaper than buying a Bullitt or Mach 1, but it severely tried my patience.

Hey if you are still having issues with your tune. Talk to Cobra Killer from all the forums. His name is Tim, he's the owner of T&F performance in Atlanta. he has been doing a flash tune on many many cars and is producing amazing results. You can check his website at http://www.modularfordpowerhouse.com
