Question Looking at Seats-'01 GT

Hey! I am wondering what you all think some black cloth seats out of an '01 GT mustang are worth. I found a pair online for $225 in "good condition". I already got the seller down $25. I could really use some new seats in my fox cause their aren't in the greatest shape. Also is it true that these will fit in my fox? Any advice/input is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

FWIW, I sold my 2000 V6 seats w/ tracks that were in excellent condition for $250 (back a few years ago). GT's have a little more bolstering than V6 seats.

But, I'm not sure how easily they will bolt up to a Fox. They do make replacement seat covers for the FOX bodies. A buddy of mine replaced all of his covers recently. I'm honestly not sure what it cost (probably a few hundred $)

Also, do the seats you're looking at include the seat tracks, as that helps value and install.

I would just recover mine but the driver's frame is broken.

They DO include the tracks! So any more ideas on value!

Got a set of seat tracks from the junkyard real cheap for my last car. Want to get a set for my current one too. Had a similar problem - did yours break at the right rear "leg"/mount as well?
If those '01 GT seats' upholstery are in good shape and if the driver's side has powered seat adjustability, go for it.

In order to get the power seat to work, don't you have to do your own wiring??

Hopefully, there is a harness already in place and it requires minor work. Not sure if the 2.3L cars had power seats as an available option though. Otherwise, just keep the seats and find the manual seat tracks if conversion is too much of a hassle.

Why do you hate them?

Also, I don't think the 2.3Ls had power seats, but there is some type of plug-iny thing under my seat now? I really could careless wether or not they are power though. I lived this long without it. It still might be nice though.

I guess the best way to describe them is when you lean back all the way and put your head on the head rest your looking at the sky. No support They just do not fit me at all.

I can attest to this issue. When I still had the stock seats in my V6, I put some washers on the back mounting bolts to lift the rear of the seat up some.

Then, I found a set of factory Bullitt seats for sale....Problem solved

If you were in my place, do you think you'd buy them, or keep looking?

I have absolutely no idea what it would take to retro-fit them, but in terms of price alone, it seems to be fair.

I don't know what is meant by "good condition", as that can be subjective. Also, the price seems fair assuming that you aren't paying any shipping charges, and that it is a set of front and rear (obviously, the rears mean nothing to you, but you could always re-sell those)

So, if I were you, I would actually inspect the seats before committing to them. His "good condition" might not be what you are expecting.

Now, my disclaimer: I am giving this info based off prices on ebay for comparable seats, and personal experience selling my V6 seats a few years ago. Obviously, parts like this are hit or miss on ebay (due to shipping prices/location if pickup only).

Sorry for the "politician's response" of not really answering the question, but I personally don't feel comfortable enough to answer the "should I buy them" question for you, as I don't know the market for seats. But, hopefully my information helps a little bit, and someone else can chime in that would have more experience

Thanks! Every opinion helps!

Also- They're just the fronts, so no selling the backs

I would LOVE some '05+ seats, but would they fit in a fox body?

i don't think the seats are made for you to be able to put your head on the headrest. They feel like 60's seat like how they didn't have headrest but fit modern safty standards by having one. Only thing I complain about is that you sit more on them then in them. But they are very confortable. I do like the bullitt seats more though. you actually sit in those.

At least you can lean your head back in the SN95's. With the S197's, the angled headrest makes it so that you can't move your head back (that, combined with the ugly angled look, is the reason that I went with aftermarket headrests).

Like Knight hinted at, the Bullitt seats actually bolster you.

That's the way my seats are now, you can't sit all the way back in them unless your looking at the sky!! I'll probably skip these, and look for some se sn-95 seats. Like the bullitt ones you mentioned, or some mach 1 ones! Thanks!

where do you find the bullit seats at? I hate the seats in my 00 GT for the same reason as Glenn does... if you just want to relax while driving, too bad...
