I really hated those springs. I would try some H&R's if I were you. As for the quads, you might get away with just flipping them, but it will be close.

Why didn't you like them?

They rode pretty rough, and still sat pretty high. Once I got the H&R's the harshness really went down even though the spring rate went up.

Ive got H&R springs, and I really love them. They can be a bit harsh over some certain road conditions, but they handle fantastically, and the drop is awesome!
cpotts13 I wanted to improve my handling but I also didn't want a huge drop and make the handling worse. I decided to go with 2001 Bullitt springs, they give about 3/4" drop and improve the stance/ride and handling. The mach 1 springs are also nice and give about 1/2" drop but they and the bullitts are getting harder to find. I have the bullitt spring part #s if needed.
Its not the drop that's gonna make you handle better, its the spring rate. The drop lowers your COG but the spring rate is what its all about. The higher the spring rate, the stiffer the springs and therefore better handling but also a harsher ride.

It's not just spring rate that affects ride quality. Poor quality of the spring can lead to a very inconsistent spring rate making it feel more harsh. The springs I moved to were much higher (750-850 front) spring rate, but still felt nicer.
