How much for a P.I swap???

Hi everyone, i'm getting sick of the lack of power my 97' GT has and i was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to upgrade my 4.6 to a 99-up. I have little mechanical experience and would send it to a mechanic to get the job done. Is it worth the bother or should i sell it and buy a 96-98 Cobra? The 97' just turned 80k but still looks and drives excellent but after driving the 03' Cobra i feel i need an upgrade for the 97'. Any suggestions guys???

I've done 5 headswaps on my own and friends cars. The heads and intake alone can run you between $500-$1500 depending on their condition. Then, you need the kit which sells for $120 and gives you the head bolts, dipstick tube, gaskets, etc. I'm actually doing one on a 97 T-Bird next week and the owner chose to replace certain items that are 10 years old like the front/rear main seals, oil pan gasket, rad hoses, heater core hoses, etc. Plus, he's adding an 11.25" converter which requires a different flexplate. He got the heads used for $400 shipped plus the intake is used for $100. $120 for the kit and another $300 for the converter/flexplate and you get the idea. Drive the car to Illinois and I'll help you do it reasonably!
