How should I shop for a used 99 to 04 GT?
What should I be looking for and at?
Are there any specific problems that develope as the years and miles go by with these cars?
Any tricks to assess engine wear without computers mechs techs and tear downs?
How about the suspension?
Tranny? I am looking at manuals.
Brakes? How does the ABS and TracControl hold up on these cars?
In general how should I shop for a used stang?

www.autotrader.com and www.cars.com always works for me

speeding tickets

check the oil and smell the exaust... but not too closely

hard on the butt but great for performance drivin

dont know anything about manuals

abs is alot better then in my cavalier, the cavaliers you can feel the pedal pumping. in my mustang it keeps everything straight and linear without too much pedal pulse.

as you would any car. be smart. dont get caught up in the moment. be cynical. see if you got a friend who knows cars. check the engine bay for signs of oil leaks. check the heat and the air. and most importently

I used Autotrader.com to find mine, it turned out to be the best way to go. You can check out my webpage/pictures for proof of that.

yeah autotrader online and your local classifieds are good to find one. got mine brand new though. you should look for pretty much the same things as on anyother cars. i would definitely pay the 25 bucks for a month to check carfax.com. listen to the engine run, 4.6 should have a smooth idle. check clutch, the clutch engages with pedal about half way off the floor it starts to grab. any higher it may be begining to wear. listen for any weird noises during your test drive. heck, be upfront ask the driver about the car. if they are slow and stumble with answers. they are probably hiding problems. GOOK LUCK!

Not sure about states, but up here in BC cdn we have a service by bcaa (our AAA) that for about 125 cdn, they come out and totally check out car your about to buy,and tell you whats wrong...its really worth the money (so you dont buy a lemon) and also worth having so you know what you have to do...
