Got new wheels
Got new wheels
I ordered 18" gunmetal bullitts monday, 18x8 & 18x9.5. I got a call today saying the wheels had come in. Once I got there, the guy had took it upon himself to order 18x9 in front and 18x10 in the back, in a little lighter color than anthracite. I was worried all week that the gunmetal would not look good. I'm kind of happy he ordered these because they look really good. Tell me what you think.

They're Continentals. 245/45ZR18 96Y up front, 255/40ZR18 99Y in the back.
I read the size off the receipt. I have no idea how to read tire sizes.

255 fits an 8.5" wheel. I think the 255s on the rear are a bit stretched. With a 10" wide wheel you should run a 285 rear.
Whom ever did your wheels doesn't understand tire sizing either, so don't feel bad.

Yeah. On my 9" rears I have 295's. On a 10" rear wheel I would think 285's should be a minimum. And btw how you read tire sizes is as follows:
Tread width in mm/ sidewall height as a percentage of tread width/diameter of the wheel it is made for.

I think they look great, classic Bullitt design, my favorite. The others are right about the tire sizes though, with a 10" wide wheel you need a wider tire out back, 285 or 295. Even the 245s in front are not wide enough, you should be at 255 or 265 with a 9" wide wheel.
That's probably smart for now. And because smaller tires have less rolling resistance you'll get better gas mileage this way. You'll just have to add some power before you buy your next set so you have a reason to put some fat rubber on those wheels.

You can probably talk someone into doing yours too.

Really didn't mean to open a can of worms there. Haha. As long as you're happy, I'm happy for you!
Wheels look great, and I'm glad a bunch of us are picking up new wheels right now.

as long as your happy that is all that matters here and they do look good. I always try to have the same or more sidewall on the rear than on the front, just looks better that way IMO. Enjoy your new found better riding ride. Its also odd to me that the dealer would order something different than what you ordered or was that an agreement you both made when you actually ordered them? You kinda made it sound like you ordered something and he changed the order after you left the store??
