I agree it looks bad. But it would probably be difficult to do given the placement of the gas tank on the SN95.

Where's the gas tank located? Don't confuse your rear floor pan (where the spare tire sits) for the gas tank. Either way, with the amount of work done on that car, I'm sure they could've put it where it belongs if they wanted to, even if it means relocating the tank, or replacing it with a smaller one.

I just thought of the one good thing about this car. A cop's running radar and tags a yellow Mustang speeding. He pulls out to go after the Mustang, but can only find a yellow Corvette... and the mixed breed drives away.

Nice didn't think of that one!

Come on now, people do breeding on dogs to get the best of two breeds. Think of the Labradoodle, Labrador and Poodle, great companion dog without the shedding. I just triing to figure out if this is a Mustavette or a Cortang and what the HECK do we benifit from it, other than the running from the law thing.

People have to get a license to drive. They should have to get a license to BREED! That way, this would NEVER happen!!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure every Mustang ever built before the 2005 model had its gas tank between the rear axle and rear bumper, and below the trunk. Up until 2005, the Mustang's fuel tank has been in the same place as the Crown Victoria and the infamous Pinto...

Give it a rest, it very well may be. In fact, it's likely to be strapped to the bottom of the floor pan. But who knows, with the amount of mods to that car the gas tank could be sitting in the trunk itself. Point is, it would look better with center exhaust, and could be done. Jeesh.

Obviously you've never had a pre-05 did you? It would be very difficult given the close proximity of the tank and the rear axle to tuck in a center exaust under the tank.

Wow, I can't believe how much people like to bicker around here. No I did not have a SN95, which is why I said it's likely to have the tank strapped to the bottom of the floor pan, but I don't know. It wouldn't go under the tank, it would pass along the sides, as it currently does, then bend behind the rear bumper and come to the center, just as the 05 Saleen exhaust does. If it can't be done keeping a distance as far as it currently is to the sides, then the tank can be relocated. It's possible. Period.

And here's a kit to do it on a 99-01 for sale:

Yes, it can be done with the Chicane kit. BTW, they did a very nice job with that kit.

Not bickering at all, just trying to give ya a hard time.

I'm not bickering, and I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time. I'm here to learn more, and to share what I've already learned.

It's not impossible to move the gas tank. It's been done quite often, particularly by TRUE racers who install fuel cells, or anyone who wants to improve the balance of their car by moving more mass to the center, or even safety minded drivers who don't like bombs strapped to their back bumpers.

But the Doctor Frankenstein to this particular monster hasn't moved the tank, based on the photos. Obviously, this beast was built by someone who is going no more than skin deep.
