Diesel

Has anyone ever thought about a diesel swap? I realize there would be a ton of fab work but how unique would that be?

only diesel i would ever put in a sports car is a 6.6 duramax. you would have 2 strengthen up the body/frame a good bit if you plan on putting a high performance tune on it cause those engines cause make like 900ft/lbs of torque with nothing more than a tune.

What would u have to do to support the extra weight? Aren't duramaxes like twice as heavy as our original engines?

Reinforce the frame and brace the **** out of it. There are smaller diesels out there though. Isuzu's, the 4bt Cummins, etc.

Funny I contacted Banks Performance about using my car as a SEMA demo for them, back when Ford was developing the 4.4 diesel for F-150 use. Unfortunately it got canceled and that went out the window. I was planning on painting it lime green, doing wide body fenders with custom Alcoa dually wheels, and smoke stacks running through the interior and exiting through the rear window
