Why don't you just disconnect the battery while it's running for a few minutes? If the alternator is bad the car will die? Or have you tries that already?

Are you running a set of underdrives? You can always get the smaller alt pulley.

No. Ford discourages this. The modern day cars with computing modules can be damaged by a car stalling when disconnecting the battery. Most modern cars will die immediately if you disconnected the battery even when it has a perfect alternator. Just don't do it. Were not back in the 70s here.

Didn't know ford still partially owned Aston. But I want a mustang not an Aston. I wonder what the mustang engine options will be in 2015.

Is this why the alternators commonly went out between 40,000-59,000 miles on the 05-09 model years?
