Adrian's 2001 Mustang GT

Hey, my name is Adrian and I recently acquired a 2001 Mustang GT. Its my first mustang or sports car in general. Its pretty much 100% stock in very nice condition especially for being about a decade old. I love the way it handles and picks up, and I love driving on the freeway with it. I want to know what would be some good mods or random things to do to my baby. I was talking to my friends mechanic who works alot on classic cars and drifting cars, and he said the best thing to do is just get a new exhaust and put some larger gears in the rear. Im not sure exactly what the gears would do, maybe just accelerate quicker? So yea I also wouldn't mind doing some exterior mods either. I recently saw an '07 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Edition mustang and thought it was beautiful. I was wondering if I would be able to do something like that on an SN 95? So yeaa its stock and I'm trying to find some idea's and general help.
-Thanks, Adrian

First of all congrats on your first mustang. Is it a 5spd or an automatic? I would definitely suggest exhaust for you first mod. The amount of power you gain won't be all that noticeable, but the deep rumble will make driving a whole lot more fun. Go on youtube and listen to all the different setups people have. It's a personal decision so pick whatever you like best. Gears will definitely wake the car up acceleration wise. There's quite a bit more you can do though. If you haven't looked yet check out American Muscle. They have some great tech articles that might help you. I've also found AllFordMustangs to be a lot of help, but be careful cause they tend to be a little hard on noobs. I really don't know how you'd make it look like an '07 without adding some hideous body kit. There's other things you can do appearance wise (grill delete, chin spoiler, wheels, etc.) that would look much better.

Wow! another Adrian!

Welcome

intake and exhaust is alway a good place to start. Springs are one of my favorite mods.
