On my 99 GT I have recently noticed that the cluster will sweep all the needles when I start the car.

Seems to only do it when the car hasn't been started for a while. After a 20 minute drive if I shut the car off and start it again it does not sweep.

Is the battery going south? It is the original 6 year old battery (57K) the eye looks like a bright yellow it maybe green though. Using the HEC cluster test mode the batt reads 150 with the car off.

Thanks

Definately the battery, happened to mine as well. Get the alternator checked as well. Basically, when you start the car, the starter uses ALL the power available in a dying battery. When the starter disengages, the comp gets power back and thinks it has been disconnected, hence the reset (sweeping) of the gauges.
