4.6L Exhaust Manifold To Midpipe Stud Size?
I screwed up the thread in the flange by crossthreading the stud into it.
Trying to chase it with a tap to get the threads good enough to run a bolt through it, but the bolt I have to check size on is messed up. I'm thinking it's an M10*1.5 (that's what I got with my digital calipers), but I guess I could be off. I tried to run a dye down the old bolt, but it got kinda screwey and it rounded off the sharp edge on the threads - seemed to be the same otherwise, and it was definitely square. I'm not sure if that's just my crappy set of HF tools doing what they do, or if I'm running an undersized dye on the bolt.
I'll pick up a new bolt from Ford once I have this sorted, but until then, anybody know what size it really is?

I'm shocked at how many people looked at this thread.
Just to confirm, it is indeed M10*1.5 no matter how many times Ford tells you it's M10*1.25. Also, if you go to Ford to buy an exhaust stud they have the wrong part number. The correct number is unknown, but the bolt they give you is an M8, not M10, and it costs 15 bucks.

Glad you solved the issue. I'm keeping this in case this happens to me. Ford also didn't have the exact parts when I did my timing chains and it took a couple of dealers to get the right part.
