351w swap questions

I'm looking at doing a 351w swap into my 95 GT and I'm wondering what block I should be looking for. I have a potential deal for a 69-74 long block and I've been surfing the internet to learn that this is a good starting block for a high horsepower build. Will I still be able to convert the motor from carb'd to EFI? I also read somewhere that It would be a good idea to convert the motor to a roller. If anyone has done a swap like this, or built a 69-74 351w, let me know!

I did similar swap in an 89 mustang. I used Crane retrofit roller lifters and off the shelf hydraulic cam (works just fine). For the intake I used Trick Flow 351 upper and lower, with the 75mm throttle opening and I put a 70mm throttle body on it. If I were to do it again I would go with the 90mm throttle opening and a bigger throttle body. For a dist. I used one from an efi truck 351, but you may have to buy an msd 351 dist. because of the module relocation in the sn95's. Make sure the flywheel or flexplate matches the balance of the engine which is different than the 5.0L. Headers are specific to 351 and other than that its works well. I stroked my 351 to 408 and it still passed the emissions test (category of hot rod) using the original 5.0L cats (only half of them because of long tube headers. Hope this helps.

That does help. Luckily where I am, I don't have to worry about emissions, but it's good to know that it can still pass
