2000 mustang gt nav system

i was thinking about replacing the factory radio and CD player with a nav system/radio/bluetooth. is it possible to get a normal touchscreen nav system like the ones that come in the new ones or would i need to get one of the flip out ones?

Im sure its possible. Its just a matter of how much custom work you want to get in to.

its possible, but would be tons easier with one of the double din center stacks

Is your factory radio the 6 disc changer or the cd/tape combo. The combo is a double din because it has a housing for both the tape deck and the cd player. The disc changer has a bigger opening for a nav screen. I thought about doing the same thing in my 03 but decided against it because the radio is mounted so low in the dash that I don't think it would be all that useful

in the later years, can't remember when specifically, Ford changed the stack setup to look like this (I've already taken the trim piece off, sorry) instead of separating the radio and the cd player. If yours is like this, it's quite simple to swap.

Double dins started in 01. You would need to buy the bezel from a later model, then cut a couple tabs and you'll be good. If you search on Modded Mustangs there is a really good write up.

Yes you need to buy a 01-04 center stack piece. There are tons on mpsautosalvage.com
