When you push the back of the seat forward to let someone in the back, once the seat returns to its normal postion it dosen't! The seat back always returns to the froward most postion. Typically when you adjust the seat back angle from the handle on the lower seat it should keep it there for the seat back return position. Every time I let the seat back go forward to let someone in back I have to readjust the seat back to my previous position. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, that is senseless, don't know their reason. You need to use two hands really to release smoothly and replace to your position. But thats not going to be very often for me.

I actually have not had anyone in the back but needed to move the seat back, forward, to put a shopping bag in the back and like stated becomes a two handed event and repostioning the seat. Just an inconvence that shouldn't of been.

I don't even have my car yet and I'm annoyed. That is a dopey design.

Strange design! Have to say, Ford gave us good seats though.

Trunk?

I know what you're saying, but its not like its something that has to happen, there are ways around it.

Yeah, this is definitely a legit gripe. My buddies jeep does the same thing, and while I don't have my stang yet, I can see it would be pretty annoying. It's not like having the seat return to the previous position is some high priced luxury option, lots of cars have it. That and no interior trunk release are the only interior gripes I have. Oh, well.

Grantsdale, someday, you may have a family, and believe me, they can eat more than will fit in the trunk

I dunno, its a pretty big trunk. Even with the shaker 1000 sub I can get two full golf bags in there side by side, so I think its plenty big enough.

I am dropping off a 3 year old every weekday, and he loves the car, but I am less than impressed with how far down the seat(s) will fold AND the return system.

They're darned comfortable though.

Yes .. this drives me nuts! Each day for work I have to flip the seat to get to
my laptop. Readjusting the seat each time is crazy. I thought when they relocated
the lever to the top of the seat they improved things but I was wrong.

Also, that is up with the strap on the side of the seat bottom? Half the time it is disconnected.

Not if you shop 2-3 weeks at a time.

OK Folks, The reasoning behind the seat returning to it's full and upright position is so that the person you just let into the rear seat of your Mustang doesn't get their Knee Caps Whacked when you put the seat back. Once you are in the car then you Adjust the seat to your comfort, as well as where it's comfortable for the rear seat passengers.

What's the BIG DEAL? Are we all getting so Lazy that reaching down to adjust a leaver is SO MUCH of a CHORE for us? If you don't want to have to readjust your seat all the time, DON'T MOVE IT! Keep All Passengers in the Right Front Passenger Seat, and Put all your Crap in the Trunk where it Belongs anyway.

are you using the seatback mounted fold lever or the one on the side of the lower cushion(the adjuster one)? Older mustangs did not loose thier position if you use the lever on the back of the seat. I never let anyone in on the driver side either.

I don't think most of us are going to change our (driver's) seating position no matter who's sitting behind us.
It would just feel too awkward.
So it should go back to it's "set" position.

That is a great point. I find myself having to readjust my seat when having passengers in the back of my stang. Still, the room in the back is terrible. But its a muscle car, so I expect that. I am waiting a couple of years to get my stang. I feel that in two years Ford will continue to improve this new-model, work out the flaws, and beging releasing special edition stangs. Also, I hope that they change the back. I don't especially care for the rear lenses or the rear bumper, too round, not enought edges for me.
