What I most miss on the "new" Mustangs
The one thing I really miss in the modern iteration of the Mustang is the lack of the fully folding seats and open rear area under the glass, ala '67-'70 types. I hate the package shelf dealy.
Is anyone aware of a simple conversion for the interior back there? I realize there would be speaker issues and such, but is it even practical while maintaining seatability and belts?

That would have been great but there are a few setbacks.
The seats are not designed to lay flat, the trunk space would be a lot less, and the spare tire has to be taken into account as well as the rear speakers.

Yeah...I was afraid of that. I just loved the way the old ones laid flat and converted the car to a two-seater with an open area behind for storage or whatever (heck, racing GT 350s had their obligitory spare tire there).
Would have been nice to keep that feature.

Just leave the seats down. It's not exactly the same, but I had mine down the other day when I had to haul some stuff and it felt a little like my '65 fastback.
Actually the 65/66 fastback was the only bodystyle that had the same type rear as the 05/06. After that, the trunk lid wasn't as prominent as it is now.
