Appreciate the reply. As in my sig, I have the gas, footrest, brake, and clutch pedals from you guys. I'll be home from a deployment to Japan in 4 days and I'm looking to start my winter mods up in earnest.

Mine is the flat one, but we put a piece of hard plastic about a 1/8" to 1/4" thick under the carpet and screwed into that. Mine hasn't ever moved since installation. I was going to use a thin piece of wood, but we found this piece of plastic that worked great. The flanged one may stay in the foam stuff thats under the carpet, but my flat one worked its way loose in no time without something substantial to screw into.

 

Anyone use the heel-toe gas pedal? I like the idea of a slightly bigger pedal but it almost looks too big. I don't want to be hitting both pedals at once when I'm only going for one. Sometimes I wear wider shoes and I could see that happening.

Which inserts do you guys like? Domed or flat?

 

I need some help. I want to order a custom brake pedal that is somewhat larger than the stock unit. Does it have to be centered or can I offset it to the left about 1/2 inch? Would this put undo wear on the arm coming down? I need a larger pedal because of nerve problems in my feet. Ultimate Pedal was great in helping me, but they did not know the answer to my question. Any engineers out there? Thanks.

I ordered a set of these on Nov.4th but didn't see the 35% off deal. I have been on the fence for these for months and now I finally get the $$$ together, I waste $30 because I missed this thread...

Anyway, I am still waiting for verification of shipment. Once I get them, and put them on, I will let everybody know my opinions...

They offer the discounted set with footrest but not the flanged one and I really like the look of the flange. They appear to be thicker and better quality than any other out there...

I bought the pedals hoping they would allow me to heel/toe but the problem seems to be that the gas pedal is pretty much in the same plane as the brake. If you are entering a fast turn and want to downshift it isn't possible to brake hard without revving the engine at the same time.Ideally you could brake at max force and them roll your foot over to blip the throttle. I removed the throttle pedal cover and left the brake cover on hoping that the relatively higher brake with allow me to use more of it but I still can't brake hard without hitting the gas inadvertently if I plan to heel/toe.

 

Mach..def interested in seeing ur pics and your thoughts on quality.

 

Will do Colby. I should have them tomorrow. I may try to get the dead pedal installed tomorrow. We are expecting rain starting Wednesday and snow by Thanksgiving morn. With temps in the near freezing range for the next week, it will be chilly sitting on the floor of the garage installing them.

 

Ok, here is the write up on my experience with the Ultimate Pedal set. Just to refresh everybody memory, I got the Automatic kit in Smooth with the flat nubbies and a smooth, flanged dead pedal w/o nubbies.

The kit arrived in good condition, a bit longer to receive than would be expected (three weeks) but I was told they are “made to order”…uh…ok.

Well, my “made to order” included a total of 4 pages of instructions. 3 pages were of installation of brake/gas pedal and 1 of installation of the flat nubbies… That’s right, the flat nubbies are NOT installed prior to shipment and so instead of pulling out 2 for your installation screws, you have to install all the nubbies prior to installation. I was surprised at this considering the additional cost. There were exactly 33 holes in the automatic kit and that is how many nubbies I got.

As to the instructions, they were neither vehicle nor kit specific. I am not sure what vehicle the instructions came from but safe to say it was neither Mustang nor automatic. Not that it takes a rocket scientist to figure how to install but they recommend holes that didn’t exist in my model nor were the instructions correct for the S197.

Attachment hardware: Since I had both a automatic kit, and the “dead pedal” in one order they sent all hardware packed together, which was fine, but did not specify which hardware went with what. Included in hardware kit bag were:

• (4) self tapping 1.25” dome head screws
• (4) self tapping .75” flat head screws
• (4) 1.5” machine screws
• (4) Flat washers (5mm)
• (4) lock nuts (5mm)
• (33) Flat grip inserts (nubbies)

I would have to say that not stating what was to be used with what was the biggest let down of this kit. I ended up using two of the machine screws with washers and lock nuts for the brake pedal, two of the short, self tapping screws for the gas, and three of the round top screws for the dead pedal. Honestly, the dead pedal support is made of a Styrofoam wedge shaped block and the screws provided were not long enough to hold it well. I am considering replacing that with a block of wood so it will go down tight.
Sorry, but I did not take pics of installation and will try to take some after vacuum clean up today.

Overall, I think the quality of the parts was good but may be a bit overpriced. I do believe if you provide an instruction sheet, it should show a kit specific set of pictures, how hard would that be? I also believe that the screws for dead pedal need be longer and should be flat head to match the gas pedal plus keep you from "feeling" the round heads with your foot (which I plan to do myself), and IMO the manufacturer should put the nubbies in and not expect me to provide the labor to build his parts. I am SO GLAD I didn't spend the additional $25 for nubbies to install for the dead pedal. It is NOT worth $25 for 23 extra nubbies you have to install yourself even though I do think it would look better...

 

Kinda dissapointing. Somewhere they should mention some assembly required
