Trunk Release

I just received the trunk release kit from SilverHorse racing as a gift, and before I decide on my final mounting location, I was curious as to if the button will open the trunk even when the car is in motion. From what I have read so far, yes it will. If this is the case, I will probably end up mounting it in a place it is not likely to get bumped into.

Anyone found out the hard way if the trunk will open while moving??

Thanks!

Our S197-805 Trunk release Kit won't release when in motion, since it works through the SJB - technically speaking it is a hard-wired version of your keyfob, so it is programmed to not operate while in motion.

The 2010+ cars that have the button stock operate the same way.

Hope that helps.

I think a lot of the older cars had the trunk release button in the glove box....so for sure you will not accidently push it there.

I got a trunk release button from an older mustang and installed it in the glove box. This was one of the easiest mods ever. Here are the instructions:

Be patient, it takes a while for all the pictures to load.

I just installed Ford switch D3AY-19C542-A last week. It is a pretty neat and simple mod:
