The top of the Dash is not a separate piece! It is $1500.00 assy So you may want to think twice before drilling any holes!

The entire dash is one huge single molded plastic piece, it includes the top and bottom visible parts as well as the structural parts.

There was an earlier post about an innovation recognition from a plastics industry group (one of many production innovations on this car). It is a single shot dual color molding process using a material with 20% talc filler for good appearance with no post molding painting.

So if you damage the top part, it would be an enormous and expensive job to replace it.

Looking at that parts break down it appears the IUP panels on the fron of the dash are seperate and can be "easily" replaced.
Is that correct?

Why? These darned car companies have to make everything so much more difficult for the normal person to repair, and obviously it makes it that much more expensive.

Except that the Airbag may need to be deactivated before removal, And it must be removed to get to the center and outer bezel. The Cluster bezel just snaps out and can be wiggled out if the steering wheel is all the way down.

Thanks, Kevin. You're a great help to all of us.
I'll look into it a little more IF the car ever gets here.

On the upside it will probably be a lot stronger and less likely to Squeak crack or break!

The top IP panel (the panel that goes the entire width) is removable, it screws on from behind. You have to remove the entire IP. But yes it seems like you can not buy just the upper panel.

I'm not pleased about this one-piece dash thing. Great for the beancounters at Ford, perhaps, but bad for consumers.

My dealer scratched up my dash during an alarm install. I had the dealer do it because I didn't want some kid at a stereo/alarm store messing up my car. So, instead some guy at the dealership did! He also left two trim pieces as well as the carpet loose. I'm sure I'm going to have a fight on my hands to get them to replace the dash at those prices!
