I installed the mobile ease bluetooth in my 2007 mustang. Everything works great, but I noticed when Im sitting at an idle, I seem to be getting engine noise coming through the speakers. I notice it if the radio volume is very low., but when I start to accelerate the sound goes away.

The question is has anyone with mobile ease notice this.

Sounds like you have power wire running right next to speaker wire. Wires that conduct sound signals can't run next to wires conducting power. They interfere. Isolate your power wires from the rest of the system.

 

Thanks, thats what I thought. I will have to wait till the weekend and try moving the harness around and see if that helps. It could also be where the brain is mounted above the glove box, but I put it where ford puts it per the instructions.

 

try turning off the automatic speed volume control, that may help. go thru the menu and turn it off. good luck

 

I tried that with no luck, I also disconnected the mic wire and the control fob wire, Sound was still there. Ughh. I guess I have to take the radio out and move the harness around

Maybe I should have just gone with an Avic d3

Oh well.

 

Well I pull the radio and disconnected the harnesses and reconnected them and moved them up a bit, the sound went away. But not that matters since I bought a avic d3. Oh well. Thanks for everyones suggestions.

 

well, i have the MobileEase, and it performs flawlessly. i hate that it added $345 to my window sticker, but again, it's flawless.

I took mine out and put it in my friends Mercury Montego. It used the same harness too. It works great in his car. I have the pioneer avic d3 with Bluetooth and ipod control installed in my car now.

 

yeah, i should probably just do the avic thing too, but i have a take-out ford unit i wanna try first. i only paid $600 for it, but i contacted KC about reprogramming costs, and he hasn't replied. not sure why...

does anyone know how to go about having my dealer reprogram this? i hear it can be claimed under warranty, since it's a factory part, but my 07 GT didn't come with nav originally.... ?

 

Hate to burst your bubble rupdog, but the dealer will not honor your warrnat on the radio unless they happened to install it for you. expect to pay about $200 to reprogram it. That is what the dealer told me.

 

ahhh... thx for the heads up, bee bop. i guess i'm just skeptical about taking it to any dealer, since it seems most people have had problems finding one that knows what they're doing.

anyone know of a NAV-experienced one in the SoCal area?

 

The dealers I talked to said that they had to send the radio off to get it programmed. They could not do it theirself.
