Steering wheel insert question

I have the satin IUP interior with the satin steering wheel inserts, but I am looking for the part number to the black GT500/Bullitt lower center insert (see pic)... I have been searching everywhere, but can't find anything. Only numbers I have found are the part numbers for the satin ones I already have...

The reason is because I want to get the black center insert to replace my satin one as it blinds me when I have the top down! I have to cover it with my hand while I am driving, which is annoying... So I figured I'd try the black one and see if that helps...

Anyway, If anyone could help me with a part number, I would appreciate it!

Thanks,

-Jason

I've got the wheel and it may not be an insert like the IUP wheel , I'll take a look and see if I can tell ...

Thanks for the links!

I saw the ones at Moss Muscle, but they replace all three and I really just want the bottom spoke. And they have glossy black where the GT500/Bullitt version looks more like a satin black, which I would prefer...

I might contact Kevin though to see if he would know... That's a good idea... Thanks!

All they do is buy the blanks and paint them.

Just grab a set and repaint or pull your lower off and just paint it
whatever color you want. Easy cheesy. Cost you less than $4.

I've thought about painting it (still might), but my biggest concern is how it'll hold up...

And those you just painted? Did you paint a few coats and then clear coat them? And no scratches or chipping so far?

Sorry for all the questions!

Mine are the Piano Black from Moss Muscle.

Yes all they did was spray it UA Black with a coat of clear.
Zero issues.

But its Piano black which is a gloss.

Since you dont want shiny just take a SOS pad and go to town on your
bottom one.
Grab a can of primer and a can of flat from the store and youll be good to go.

I wouldnt clear if you want it flat.

I do wear a wedding ring but nothing really smacks into the spokes. Now my WIFE is a different story. She has somehow managed to scratch up her stockers on her GT pretty good. LOL

Then again she does wear allot of rings/jewelry and stuff....

Yeah, I noticed I scratched my left one (small scratch) from my wedding ring... Only once though, not bad... LOL!

If I can't find the GT500 version (or it won't work), I think I'll buy a set and try painting them... Thanks!

I have the same problem. Living in San Diego, the top is down more than it isn't, so it is pretty annoying. Just having quite figured out what I want to do to solve the issue.

I am up in Northern California and pretty much only drive the car with the top down! So I completely understand!

I still haven't gone forward with anything yet (been pretty busy), but still haven't found the part number for the GT500 insert yet... If there is one...

Can I put the inserts on a base steering wheel? The all plastic one?

Not the IUP(-like) ones. The base wheel doesn't have the cuts needed to fit them. But you can find some other covers meant for the base wheel on the internet.

Sorry to bring such an old thread back to life (blame Google).

Does anyone know which color inserts from Moss Mustang match the OEM ones from the IUP? Platinum silver? Glossy silver? Brushed aluminum?

Tony
