Can anyone tell me what the size of 6 speakers are? Also can where is each one located. Sorry If this is somewhere else I can't seem to find it. I want to plan out what aftermarket speakers I am going to get. Thanks for the info.

Ford has been pretty consistant with the speakers. Without actually seeing them I would assume 5x7/6x8 would be the size. Hopefully someone with a 05 can shed some more light on this.

on the shaker 500 and 1000 they are 8" subs in the doors as well as 5" mids and then the 1" tweets in the top. I believe 6x9 in the rear deck but have yet to confirm if the shaker 1000 has 8" or 10" subs in the trunk. I sure hope they are 10's

So 6X8's in the doors? 5X7's in the back and 6X9's in the rear? Can anyone with an 05 confirm this so I can start price shoping. Thanks.

I always forget to look when I've been in an 05 if there are any in the dash? Just in the rear panel correct?

crutchfield.com lists 22 models. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-K8BOBsVwcX5/c...p?g=52200&avf=N. So apparently someone does.

Between this picture that Brad posted a while back

and this one that I took myself of the preproduction Stang

I'm pretty sure that door and rear decklid size is 6X8/5X7. I also measured the door sub while it was here, and it was an 8".

Wow, those are some informative pictures although they make me weep. Can anyone confirm 6X8's in the doors 5X7's in the back and 6X9's in the rear?

wait...if you order the regular std stereo...not the shaker 500 or 1000...does it still have the 8" woofers in the door? or just an empty case? I ordered the std stereo, because I was planning on adding after market stuff.

Can someone please confirm?

What speakers are you asking about?

2 in the doors, or 4 with the shaker (1 speaker...probably 5X7/6X8 plus 1 8" sub in each door), and then 2 (probably 6X8's) in the rear deck.

There are not 3 sets of oblong speakers in the vehicle.

Only the higher stereos have the subs in there. By not ordering the Shaker, your missing out on both the holes AND the enclosures built for the 8" subs too. In other words, those 8's were not mounted just to the door, but had some sort of enclosure associated with them as well.

I got the premium package because of this...when Car Toys puts in my setup I'll try to be there and take pictures of what's going on inside the doors.

My setup thus far:

Sony WX-7700MDX CD/MD player (imported from Japan)
Sony XT-XM1 XM Radio Tuner
Sony CDX-757MX 10 disc CD/MP3 Changer
JL Audio e6450 6 channel amp
JL Audio TR570CXi speakers (2 pairs)

I'll probably put in a couple of JL Audio 8W0's for the subs in the doors...haven't bought those yet.

Now if only my car would just get here.

Door:
2X 8" Subs (with 1000)
2X 5X7 or 6X8

Rear panel:
2 X 6X9

Trunk:
2 X Subs (with 1000)

I think I'm missing one? Or something but is what I have correct?

Er...there are tons of em. Go to crutchfield.com or sounddomain.com and look it up. Ford's been using them for years.

Why would they do 6X8 in the front and 6X9 in the back?

I'm pretty sure the backs are 6X8's. Not 100%, since mine's not here yet, but pretty darn sure.

What size are the subs in the trunk for the shaker 1000? I'd assume 10's

From TMS timeline-

"On cars equipped with either system, each door has its own subwoofer in a ported enclosure. This allows the door-mounted woofers to produce more "thump" than if they were housed in the bare door. The 1000-watt version adds a mounted, ported enclosure in the trunk that includes two more subwoofers."

Quick Reply: Speaker sizes.
