Just wanted to know if anyone out there has used the Soundgate LOCB.2 to tap into the pre-amp signal of the Shaker 500 or 1000 system with any success? Did you encounter any problems (like engine whine noise or weird wiring things)? I'm planning on hooking one up in the coming months and was curious if anyone got it to work or found problems.

Soundgate's compatibility documents don't list the Shaker systems, but I was told by a Soundgate tech in e-mail that it would work.

I got the PAC OEM 2 its pretty similar , i guess. The instructions say i have to tap into the low level signal being sent from the Head Unit to the Amp that drives the rear speakers. Now i just have to identify those cables and tap into them.... i figure its easier said than done...hehe

I went into the online Motorcraft Service Manuals (http://www.motorcraftservice.com), they have all kinds of details about the Shaker 500 & 1000 audio wiring, with full diagrams including the plug diagrams for all connections. It is subscription based but you can pay a small fee for 72hr access and get in, get/save/print what you need, and get out.

I still haven't looked in detail as to which color wires to tap but I know I have the info in the files I grabbed.
