This will be a dumb question to some but I have never owned a Mustang and I am giving up some of the Premium options on my BMW, not that I care, just some convienence items that I was wondering if they were on the Mustang. For one, the floormats. Do they have the velcro tabs so that they don't slip under the gas/brake/shift? Or how about the rear view mirror. Does it have a dimmer on it? And lastly, do the side mirrors tilt down when put in reverse? I know the windows have the one button push down and the stereo has the auto volume, but I don't know about these three. Thanks in advance for input all. This site has been really helpful to a future virgin Stang owner!

OK great thanks. Is there somewhere you might be able to install these on yourself? Like a dimmer mirror?

Typically, the auto dimming rearview mirror with compass/temperature gauge is available as a dealer installed option. I have not seen anything to confirm this for 05, but I could have had it done on my 01. I would assume it will be available eventually.

Check this

http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?showtopic=6495

And try here
http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com

MSRP for autdimming mirror w/ temperature display $292
MSRP for autdimming mirror without temperature display $175
both mirrors have compass.

Don't think the above prices include installation.

An auto dimming mirror is on my list of add ons. My current car does not have this feature.

 OK... you say you are a BMW owner. BMW does not come from the factory with floor mats in ANY of their current new cars. :nono: They are sold by the dealers only. I know this because I recently purchased a 325xi and the salesperson tried getting me to pay $120 for floormats. Needless to say, they threw them in with the deal.

So why does a high end car like BMW not come with floor-mats?

Mark one more for the Mustang !! :worship:

So you are telling me the 745i doesn't come with floor mats? My dad has owned a few BMWs over the years and has never checked an option for floor mats. I think you were getting scammed, unless the dealer was trying to sell you A/S floor mats.

So you are telling me that a 70k 745i doesn't come standard?? I checked the BMW website and there was no option for floor mats. Again, if you are talking about the rubber "winter" floor mats, those are optional.

No I'm serious. Floormats do not come standard in any new BMW. They are only available through the dealer. It sounds crazy, but it's true. I just double checked with a friend of mine who is a BMW salesperson at Autowerks in Barrington IL.

Why does everyone always seem to think I'm lying all the time.

Don't beleve me...?... check it out for yourself.

You have to pay everything extra if you get yourself a new BMW, be it floor mats, a CD player or cup holders. That's what BMWs are known for, at least here in Germany. It stinks, people are arguing about it, but still they're buying them and paying 1/3rd of the price for options only.

I know that my mom's 330i came standard with floor mats. I cannot find anything on the BMWusa.com saying floor mats are optional. I think your salesman is wrong on this issue, which is a pretty common occurance in my experiences.

For example, look under convienence:
