I have not seem any 2005 Mustang with side air bags yet, I was wondering if more people were getting them or not.

Didn't order them for myself, but my wife rides shotgun. Her life's worth the few hunderd bucks.

You would be stupid IMO not to order them. If they save your life, it's the best 370 buck you could have spent. I can't see it being a money issue either, since you are purchasing a 20K+ plus car.

If you're going to spend the extra $$$ on the IUP to dress her up, you may as well spend the extra few hundred bucks or 1-2% of the total cost to make it safer from idiots blind siding you. IMO...

Ford offered 'em, I ordered 'em!!

$330 seemed reasonable, even if I only use them once!

For those of us who did not want the IUP, side air bags were not an option. I may have ordered them if I could of, but if safety was the overiding factor in choosing a car I would have bought a Volvo.

Yeah, pretty stupid of Ford to tie in safety equipment to a color changing dashboard. I don't get that one, but the last thing we need is another IUP thread.

Can they be retrofitted? They are in the seats, correct?

Probably, but it'd be super expensive. I'm sure there'd also be something needed in the lines of airbag sensors and computer, etc.

Didn't get 'em. I will likely change to racing seats later on.
