Shift Knobs to match your Mustang
#141
Hi Guys,
Sorry to not have posted for a while. As you can imagine, Christmas time is a very busy time for us and we have have been working very hard to take care of our customers.
I know that many of you have been asking to see more pictures of the Shift ****. I have held off on posting pictures because some of the colors have been very challenging. What you see below are just a few of the colors produced to date;
Please dont forget that it is not easy to get perfect color reproduction on every computer monitor in the world. Some of the colors may not look right on your monitor but I can assure you that we have been working very hard to get the colors to be correct.
One challenge has been how the colors look once installed onto the shifter. You see, its dark inside of our Mustangs. The **** does not have as much light reflecting off of it as the exterior paint does. The result has been ***** that look too dark once installed.
We have been working to lighten the colors a bit so that once they are in the car the colors will look correct. Success has been mixed. Non-metallic colors such as Grabber Orange, Screaming Yellow, Torch Red etc. always look beautiful, but the dark metallic colors such as Vista Blue, Alloy Grey, Tungsten, Redfire etc. tend to look very dark. Once mounted on the inside of the car, some of the colors look nearly black.
We feel that we now have the process nearly perfected but folks need to keep in mind that some of the dark colors will never look as bright on the inside of the car as it does on the outside.
I will post more pictures of some of the other colors as soon as possible.
Merry Christmas!!

A lot of the pictures people are posting make it look really tall. I know it can go lower from the original post. How much adjustment is in the adapter?
Can someone post a picture of the factory **** next to this one and it's adapter? Just hold the OEM one next to one of these installed.

If you have the factory Ford shifter you can screw the adapter down very low and have the **** be at almost the exact same height as the factory ****. You also have the option the raise the adapter so the **** is at a higher position. Some folks enjoy the extra leverage you gain with the higher position.

Hehe...well...we have sold many ***** in White and Black but I was totally sold out at the time I was taking pictures.
However, I am producing some White and Black ***** next week. I will take some pictures after they are engraved. You will like them. They look great!!

I'm wondering what would look best in a Satin Silver car with Charcoal interior. I was thinking either Mineral Grey or Alloy with silver engraving. Any ideas? Seriously thinking about it, would go great with an MGW shifter.

Hi Justin,
Please be aware that without bright sunlight, Alloy is very dark. An Alloy **** inside the darkness of the interior looks like Black Metallic.
Mineral Grey looks very good. Its light enough to be able to see the unique swirl patterns. Of course you could also go with Satin Silver if you want something even brighter looking.

Yes, the Satin Silver **** does have the swirl pattern. The other cool thing is that each **** has a unique pattern...no two are alike.

When we first began R&D on the shift ***** we looked at all of the sizes that are common in the market.
Based on customer feedback and our own testing, we concluded that that 2.25" ball was too big. We also concluded (and other customers agreed) that the Hurst 1.75" was a bit too small.
In the end we decided that the OEM Ford size of 2.00" was the most comfortable to most people.
To date, I have yet to receive a single complaint from a customer regarding the size. In fact, most customers report how comfortable the 2.00" size is.
So for now, I think we will stick to the 2.00" size and leave the 1.75" to the folks at Hurst.
Thanks!

I have to agree Mark 2.00" is fine.

That's even better! That swirl pattern is very slick looking and would give people something to talk about at car shows.
