Just ordered 2 1/4 black mustang shift ball from MRT. Has anyone replaced theirs? Do you have pics? Will it look ok with factory leather boot?
Thanks!

I don't know. Does it have a lip to attach to the factory boot?

i have an idea now that i think about it!
you could go get a couple of washers and put them under the shift **** making a perfect place for the shifter boot to latch on to!
woohooo!! im ordering a shifter ball right now!!

Hi Dave,
Stock **** has a lip that the stock boot sits in "snuggly"
I have a leather boot with my 2" MRT shift ball . Stock boot should work the same.
What I did to hold the boot up was to place 1/2" split plastic wire loom (about $2.00) on the shift lever. Place about 3 pieces on top of each other to build it out enough to hold up the top of the boot.
1 piece should be the length of the shift lever and the next couple to build it out only need to be over the top couple of inches.
It worked for me.

Hey Joe! Thank you! That's exactly the information I was looking for. How do you like the feel of the shift ball vs. the stock shifter? I can't wait to get it.
Thanks again. Dave

You'll like it . The feel is solid and I like the retro look.
My only criticism is that I expected the shift patern to be embeded in the ball
like the pony emblem is.
It looks fine but is engraved into the ball.
The price is sure right!
enjoy,
Joe
