Shaker RDS - Anyone play with that yet?
I was reading the manual last night about the Shaker500, and it mentioned the RDS capabilities the Shakers have. I just went out and enabled it and did a "find" for Rock. Man what a cool feature! If you leave it enabled, it doesn't interfere with anything, but it will tell you the name of the station (sometimes just the call letters, sometimes more), and sometimes the song that's playing and the artist! Go check it out
Unless this is a "welcome to last week"

Thanks, MTAS. That's really cool. I would have never known that was there.
The Autoset and the Search for Type would be great on out of area trips. Around here, anywhere out of the center of the state, using the seak button only brings up country and folk stations. Being able to just search for rock stations would make things a lot better.

My Lincoln LS had that feature and it can be set at several diff things like radio station, type, etc. I've noticed that in the past 18mos there are many more stations that are using RDS and some even have their call letters, and the artist and the song title...pretty cool and only going to get better! Don't forget to check out the feature that allows you to position the sound to the driver's seat, rear or al; seats - that's a pretty cool feature too.

I finally took a look through the manual as well... odd that you have to hold down the MENU button for the RDS settings. Seems like it would have made more sense for RDS to just be one of the choices as you keep pressing menu... oh well.
In other news, I also found out you can lower the windows using the keyless entery remote... funny, I guess this "reading" thing actually does come in handy.
