The owners’ manual states that you can have 255 Tracks on the mp3 CD’s. But when I put one in with 250 mp3’s on it all it reads is 234???
Has any one else tried to see how many tracks the Shaker will read?

P.S. I have the 1000 and I love it!!!

I guess not many people are playing around with mp3's and the shaker!!!???

I have not tried more than 10 folders...

I put a complete album/CD in a folder and get about 5 to 7 per cd.
I use 320 Kbps for my mp3's.

I haven't ran into any issues with space. But I do burn the mp3's at high quality. Too me, why sacrifice the quality of music if you a have a possiblity of more than 600 songs (and that's with inly 100 per CD).

I haven't had any problems myself and can't even come close to getting that many files on a disc. I rip my mp3's at 192k though so maybe alot higher bitrate than you. I burn full cd's as mp3's on cd's so I usually only get 8-12 folders per disc. But so far have had no problems

I use only mp3's in my stang but I don't think I've gotten anywhere near the limitations yet. I encode using a variable bit rate to save some space. One thing I would like to have though is shuffle within a folder.

Anybody tried burning mp3 with folders on a CDRW? I am having trouble playing those - I get a "Bad disc" error. If, you did and succeeded caould you post CDRW spec (speed and brand). Thank you!

I am getting the same bad disc error.

I am trying to burn at 40x. Will a different speed make a difference. The "bad" discs play elsewhere.

I've burnt most (if not all) of the discs I use in the stang at 8x - the slower speed seems to produce more widely usable discs.
