Shaker 500 vs Shaker 1000

Is there really a difference? If I were to upgrade from the 500s to 1000s would it be worth it?

i`m curious too. marcy has the 500 system in her car, and i put a 1000 hu in my basic, no door subs, just to have the 6 disk changer. the 1000 is set up for the amps and bass speaker in the trunk, but not sure of other options.

Don't do it. You can build a lot better aftermarket system for the price of shaker 1000. I put components in my front doors, and aftermarket 6x9s in the rear deck for under 150 (did the install myself) and as far as sound quality is concerned it blows shaker 1000 out of the water. It doesn't have the bass punch of 1000, but if that's all you want there's better options for heavy bass too. I plan on adding an Infiniti basslink to complete the system.

Shaker 1000 is just the 500 with the dual 10in subs w/amps in the trunk. I had it and it was ok.(came with the car). But I wouldnt pay extra for it. Like Kevin said. Go aftermarket if you want subs. Its cheaper and the quality will be better. I have a prett ysubstantial aftermarket system in mine(replaced everything) and love it.

Only positive thing I can say is you can may be able to find the 1000 trunk system online for a decent price.
