Try Visteon, 1-800-VISTEON / www.visteon.com. They designed the head units for Ford. Be prepared for a LOOOONG wait on the phone :bang:

Hope this helps.

Also give Delphi a try. The also had a hand in the development of the Shaker.

This is a email I rec'd from Visteon:

Mr. Fischer:
This is in response to your submission to <http://www.visteon.com/>
www.visteon.com dated May 25, 2005. We regret to inform you that the
information you were provided was inaccurate -- Visteon Corporation is not
the supplier of record for the Shaker system. You may wish to contact your
purchasing or local Ford dealer regarding the issues you have experienced as
detailed below. We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter for
you.

I saw at one point that Kenwood was somehow involved- but I can't find where I read that. Maybe it was an OEM-type division of Kenwood?

"The system was designed and implemented by Ford, working closely with Delphi, which supplied the radio head units, and Visteon, which co-developed the speaker packaging and system architecture. It is named after the famous Mach 1 "Shaker" hood; the Shaker brand is owned by Ford and is exclusive to Mustang. "

This is from Car & Driver. Maybe since all of the problems some have had with the Shaker version A they have washed their hands of it. But when I was inquiring about adding an aftermarket head unit Ford told me to call Visteon.

Good luck with that - I struck out months ago when I contacted Delphi about the Shaker systems. They claim to have nothing to do with them.

Nobody wants to admit they have anything to do with the Shaker audio systems!

Yeah it is kinda odd. Both Visteon and Delphi were mentioned in preproduction materials at various points. Both both companies indicate they were not involved in the development or manufacturing of these Shaker units.

I admit I didn't do any super exhaustive research, but what research I had done led to no answers.

Because it's there, and we might want to replace it - if we have something in mind that might be better in some respects.

Exactly, I want to compare specs of the OEM Headunit with an aftermarket unit.
