If this has been covered before, my apologies, and please point me to the thread!

I have several CDs that have tracks that run together, one into the next. Is there a way to disable the delay between tracks on the Shaker 500? It's not an earth-shattering problem, just an annoying little thing.

Thanks!

There is NO gapless MP3 on the Shaker. Get a Rio Karma and the Aux-in adapter for the Shaker.

I need to make five mp3 cds for my soon to arrive 06 - any advice on the best format for the disk as far as folders, file order, etc - what does the Shaker handle best? Does it ignore your disc format and create its' own order (as some older players did)?

Go to the timeline and check the owners manual (pdf file). In the audio system section it shares all the details!

My opinion would be to go totally aftermarket, skip both the 500 and 1000. You could get a pretty good system for the same $$, if not less......spend the rest on other mods!

Hey Big Dog,
I had that EXACT frustration with my '06 Shaker 500.

I make my own "DJ" mix tapes and I HATED that gap between songs. At first I though I was burning the discs wrong but it is actually a design flaw in the 05-07 Shakers. (Maybe 05, 06?)

I replaced the HU with an 08' Shaker 500 HU. Problem GONE.

The 08' bolted right in. While I was at it, I added the P.I.E. AUX interface and now I have hands free calling, through my smartphone, in my 'Stang. I also play movies, mp3 player & GPS too. It only took a few hours to get 'er installed. Best afternoon you can have!

The only difference, IIRC, was you'll need the Chrysler radio antenna adapter... the '08+ HU use the Chrysler form instead of the Motorola style plug the earlier "stangs had. I bought a Metra adapter with no problems.

Enjoy!
