Audible difference - I'm not sure. The bad thing about using the speaker level inputs is that they've already been passed through an amplifier - and every component you pass through reduces signal quality and adds noise.

If you did a side-by-side comparison, you'd probably hear the difference, but I'm sure it still sounds fine, assuming your sub amp has a low pass filter.

I dunno where I got this idea that we had component speakers (4" and 1") in our 6x8 space in the doors. I think they might just be 6x8's. Can someone confirm this?

I apologize for the crack I must have been smoking.

You were basically correct. The front speakers are a dual speaker arrangement that has approx. a 4" and a small tweeter that are side by side integrated in a 6x8 oval frame.

Ahh ok - I saw a set of four stock 6x8 speakers from a late model mustang on eBay and I wasn't so sure.. thanks for the confirmation.

I have a 2007 gtcs convertable that had a Shaker 500 it has 4 factory amps for the 6 speakers 2x8" subs in the door & on each side 2 x 6x8 ' s
I have replaced the Shaker 500 with a Kenwood dvd unit and the 4 6x8's are now Kenwood Excelon , then the 2 8" door subs I also replaced with thin Kenwood Excelon and then I matted my trunk out them put all the carpet back to stop the rattling for the 2x10" Kenwood Excelon subs with a 1600 watt infinity mono amp , it is all honestly 10 x better than the factory stuff .

Does anyone know what the amp power on the RAXIOM Head unit is?? I am replacing the head unit with the RAXIOM system, And American Mussel has not a clue what the specks are for there unit is. When I asked the question as to what the power output was, I was told by there customer support that you keep the original head unit and it will mount in the dash. They said that figure 11 on the install instructions shows this. Well the figure 11 shows the back of the new unit. and not the orginal head unit. Both American Mussel and LMR " late model Restoration" have no clue as to what they are selling.
I ask both the same question as to what the output is for the head unit and I was told by both that what ever you take out that will be the same power as the RAXIOM has,

Looking at this forum I see that the subs are separate amps and that the rest of the power is from the head unit. So they are both full of you know what. !!! The other problem is that there is no wiring diagrams for there system. They won't even give a simple block diagram for the hookup.

I bought a new unit on Ebay for $300.00 less that either one of the retailers. So if anyone has some idea what the power output is on this unit. Please let me know.. OH and the RAXIOM web site is no help. Nothing at all on there site. They refer you to the dealer.

Thanks
DR
