Shaker 500 --> Aftermarket Deck
I have searched; no success.
My deck was removed by my dealer for the good 'ol shaker problems. They had to send it off to get fixed? Anyway, I'm without a radio in the mean time.
So, I got a radio install kit for the new F150. Plastic fits fine, the harness plugs in, but, as you can imagine, no 8" sound.
I installed my Pioneer MP3 deck, and am running off of the other 4 speakers for the time being.
How can I hook up the 8's? There is no "premium" wireing harness out yet as far as I know. I know what plug powers the 8's, but not sure where to give it power and signal.
Someone has to have done it by now
Any help is appriciated, thanks in advance,
Brad

They took the deck out without replacing it? My dealer said they'd order the replacement Shaker 500 and call me when it was in. It only took about a 2 weeks and they called for me to bring the car in and get the replacement. It seems weird that they would want you to drive around in your car without the stereo. Makes Ford look kinda bad, don't you think?
I would imagine the harness only converts some of the wires over to the standard connector on the back of your pioneer unit. Check out the stock wiring plugging into your harness and see if there are some wires strictly for the subs in the door. Basically, I think they may be amped on another channel rather than ran in series or something. To back this up I know the subs in the doors run at 1.5ohms or something crazy like that.
I was going to say you could solder the wires together to basically send the same signal.. but with the ohm difference I dunno now....
Ignore what I just said.

The wiring diagram shows that the Subs are connected to the Shaker unit by C290b (8pin) ... The J4 connector that is shown in the diagram that is posted in these forums.... Looks like the Shaker 500/1000 have separate wiring to subs right to the head via C290b...
Contact the guys at Scosche, They have a way of doing it ... They did it with their 05 gt! They used their EFX amps and replaced the factory speakers with EFX speakers for front and back, But kept the 8in subs in the doors Powered by a 4 channel amp on the rear side of amp, front 5x7s powered by front of 4 way amp... I will be able to let you how it work ,Because I'm doing the same set up, Will have everything I need by Friday,Will install it that weekend. wish me luck!

Asked a local installer about just this question the other day, and he said that Metra has a harness that allows the subs to work with aftermarket. I then asked if he was sure that it ACTUALLY worked with the Shaker 500 system subs and not just another 05 mustang harness, and he said he was pretty sure but he'd ask his Metra rep. Called back half an hour later and said that it WOULD work... I need to ask for a part number, but Metra's site doesn't show much as far as parts anyway from what I've found.

I worked with Scosche on my dash kit and harness when I got my Mustang in November. I agree that they have been a great help in the past, although I did send an e mail about the subject of the door woofers recently and didn't get a response. I never tried again, but since you have a contact there, I'll wait to hear about it. If you can, let us know Scosche's part number for the harness.
Thanks!!!!
Thanks!!!!
