Shaker 1000 Sub Enclosure Working With OEM Nav Radio

Hi all, I'm wanting to replace my car stereo (currently a shaker 1000) with the OEM Factory Nav Unit. With the Shaker1000 I have the factory sub enclosure and amplifiers.

Having looked into this subject, I know that the OEM Nav System will not work with the sub enclosure as it was built to replace the Shaker500.

Does anyone know how to make the enclosure work with the OEM Nav System through converters, amplifiers, etc?

Does anyone know of a good write-up on my current inquiry?

**Please refrain from saying, "just get an aftermarket nav system" as this is NOT what I'm looking for**

Thanks!! Help is MUCH appreciated!!

What you need is a descent line level converter.

I would recommend the AudioControl LC2i its what I used in my 12 BOSS. I am using a JBL MS-8 in my GT500, its much better, but much more expensive.

Cheers,

Alternatively, if you get a Nav Unit from a 2009+ Ford F150 or Edge (more modern interface), you can have it programmed to work with the shaker 1000.

The caveat there, is that you'd need an amplifier for the speakers.

According to AKdoggie, correct me if I am wrong, the THX OEM ones should work with the Sharker 1000s.
I have a THX one, but it will need a mobo for the screen to work.

VGM....not all THX models. The ones with the 4 J plugs will work for replacement of the 1000, but some THX with the 3 J pins will not work. It depends on the radio number. If it is an 8 or 9 prefix, it will work if it is the 4 J plug style for the Shaker 1000. If it's 3 Plug style, it will work for the Shaker 500 or the CD6 but not the 1000.

Sorry for the confusion. I was up late last night and didn't read where he wanted a number to work with his 1000 as a replacement.
