Im replacing just the HU in my 05. Does the rest of the system need two sets of rca cables? Two for the door subs and two for the trunk subs. Or is it mono for each? Probably going with the metra harness, but all the ones Ive seen only have one red and one white. Will be installing a pioneer avh-p3200dvd.

 

Well after quite a bit of research I found that the 8 pin plug runs the amps. Pins 1-4 are for doors and 5-8 are for the trunk. The amps are mono out of the HU and split before the amps. Looks like the harness uses all eight pins but will confirm it when I get it later this week. The 16 pin plug in my 05 only has two wires on it. Both for the can bus? Have it disconnecteted and everything seems to work fine. Will post some pics of the install later next week.

 

What will you be replacing the HU with?
