Since I may get a supercharger,a procharger at that, which produces over 600hp installed,I thought that my stang could top out at over 180 with a procharger installed,so I would need a speedometer saying at least 180mph.So,since the saleen speedo is the only 05'+,over 180mph speedo on the market, where could I find one? I have searched on Aol,and it only shows saleen clusters for 04' and older.

Do you think they would have them in the parts section at my dealer?

Looking at both, I would almost guarantee that you would need a recalibration some how as 200mph sits about where 140mph is. I wish they had these in km/h but nothing yet. Ill have to wait quite a while, doesnt seem tobe any saleen dealers around

1) Even if you get the speedo, who is going to calibrate it? You will have to find a shop like Chicane that is a Saleen specialist and one of a few shops in the country that reportedly can install and calibrate the speedo.

2) 600hp isn't that much -- especially with the crappy aerodynamics of the Mustang. Livernois' 800 hp/1,000tq Mustang hit only 174mph in a standing mile (yeah, I know it had an oil problem, but not a 26mph problem).

3) Where would you ever be able to test it out without endagering someone else's life?

Unless you just looking for an ego boost, I say stick to more effective and useful mods.

Just my $0.02.

I think physics would have something to say about your Mustang hitting 200 mph.

Well,I was gonna get one in case I get supercharged,so if and when I do,my mustang will hit at least 180mph,and for future reference, insideline did hit 198mph in their 575hp vortech mustang gt,and I am wanting to make 550hp.

OK, I guess if he is going to remove the mirrors, tape the leading edges, remove some interior pieces, add a functional front splitter, a functional rear underbody diffuser, and have WELL over a mile of full acceleration on a clear flat surface in optimal weather conditions, then yes, he should definately switch to a 200 mph speedometer

No, I don't see your point.

Are you taking the car to bonneville?
What aerodynamic mods are you doing to your car?
Are you installing special gearing to hit 200 (180+)?
Where do you plan to hit 200 (or 180+)?
How often do you plan on hitting 200 (or 180+)?
Do you know how much hp it takes to overcome drag at speed?

I think someone is doing alot of daily driving on the Bonneville salt flats out in Utah..........

(then again you STILL have to watch out for the cops out there, even at 185mph.... I hear they use those Buckaroo Bonzai jet cars......)
