Good luck, I tried to buy that one myself last year. I called Saleen, after I saw one on a Saleen at a dealership, and I was told it was not available. Maybe mikes rx will chime in since he has one.

 

if you got a friend at a saleen certifide dealership you could ask them to call up saleen and tell them that a customer is looking to replace the shifter on their saleen and have one ordered for you

 

That's funny. I just ordered one on Friday directly from Saleen for $59.99. Just give them a call and tell them you want the leather and billet shifter **** that was on the 06 Saleens. make the call.

 

Typical saleen, not knowing what's going on, and jacking up prices (it was half-that price when I bought it).

Just call them up and ask for it. That's what I did. In fact, when I called, the guy asked me if I wanted the 05 or 06 ****. I said, "what...they have a different **** for 06" [the 06's had JUST come out when I called]. I looked at some pics on ebay of the 06's, and sure enough, they were leather wrapped. Maybe Jeff and I were lucky and got someone who knew what they were doing (or didn't know what they were doing, if they weren't supposed to sell them )

There is a part number for it, I just don't remember what it is. Also, the 05's have an all-billet one, if you are interested in that one more.

Here is a pic of it in my car, so that you can see what it looks like with some other mods that you may have/be getting.

NOTE: I installed it with the stitching facing the driver, to go along with the shift boot. Also, I placed the shift boot "retainer ring" on the lower part of the ****, exposing the upper recessed part of the ****. Saleen hides the stitching toward the radio, and some of their boots are placed above the recessed part. But I think it looks better the way I did it, as the **** is actually nicely made (unlike their cheap plastic pedals). the stitching flows with the boot, and as a bonus doesn't bother your fingers when doing a 1-2 shift.

This is the "best" shifter **** that I have seen so I called Saleen today and ordered one too. The guy told me it was $49.95 and yes it is the billet **** with the leather wrap for the 06 Saleen. I will have a Roush **** for sale soon. LOL~

 

+1 It is a very nice ****, especially for the price. I think it's the best looking one out there too. Now only if Saleen made nice pedals instead of cheap plastic ones

 

I love this ****. It feels great, it looks great, and it's a decent price. Gotta love it!
