I wish I had found this thread before I made the mistake of ordering these mats. I had the parts department of our local Ford dealer get them for me. What a disapointment! Plus they smell like vomit, which is what the looks make me want to do. When I got them in the car I also thought they must be for another model, but the packaging says 2005 S197. Anyway, I am returing them today. If Ford is aware of the problem and redesigning them then why are they still selling them?

Has anyone tried the WeatherTech ones ? They claim they have perfect fitting mats for the 2005 mustang, but without the grommet for the drivers side (they claim they don't need no stinkin grommets since their mats weigh more than 10 pounds each)

Weathertech lists the Mustang Mats as being model W39, which is the same as the Lexus GX470
So I really don't think these are custom-fitted to the Mustang then

OK here's the official answer from WeatherTech: "the w39 mat is the best fitting mat we have to give the most coverage to the floor of the mustang of all the different patterns that we have.unfortunatly we do not have a picture of the mats in the mustang yet "

I have grey WeatherTech mats in my car and they work well. They cover more area than the Ford rubber mats do. The WeatherTechs don't fit perfectly but cover nearly the entire footwell. I had them for my other car, so I didn't see spending money on new mats.

I have weather mats in mine with the Mustang logo on them. They are of a fabric, and they are waterproof, resistant. For my 2008 Mustang I ordered the black ones through the dealer. Didn't know they would be total black. Later, moved them to my 2012 S-197. I would like to have the emblem displayed. and been talking with a member in Australia. He led me to the clear ones. I ordered clear rubber mats from Amazon. Hopefully, will accomplish my goal. I bought the black mats 2020-21 and they are a solid piece. Unlike what some of you are posting.
The mat with emblem actually the weather proof mat. But because of mountain living can't keep clean.
From dealer but all black. Bought for a 2008 and now in my 2012 S-197.
