I really think it's a nice touch to the IUP. My only complaint is with the A/C *****...They don't light up very well at night and I have a hard time seeing where the setting is or where I'm turning them to. I got the blue illumination. Complained to the company and they told me that they knew about the problem but they are selling them anyway. Which made me PO'ed but I lke them too much to return them.

APPARENTLY IT WON'T LET ME ADD THE PICTURES YET, GRRR. SORRY GUYS.

BUT If you have AOL, you can check it out on my profile. FadedRainbow27

I bought my AC ***** from UPR in blue to match the MyColor dash setting. I also found out the lights do not show through. Ford put green illumination behind the *****, not white. I am not thrilled with UPR. :bang: The edges of the ***** are sharp and the finish is rough. Next time, I will do what I should have done and get the MGW accessories. They cost more, but they are done right. I had them for my PT Cruiser and they were finished properly and looked much better than UPR. Pay for quality the first time, it's cheaper than buying twice.

Yeah I had no clue about the other brand, but when I go on California Mustang the pictures of those two products look like they came from the same source. So I would have probably assumed they were the same brand anyway. I got the blue illumination as well because I always have my IUP on either 145 or 135 (I think those are the number combos). I was sadly disappointed. But I'm going to try and find a way to fix the ***** I have. Did you write them complaining? You should it's funny to hear the BS they'll give you.

:notnice: No, I didn't contact them. I get tired of arguing with people about poor service and rip offs. I'll just chalk it up to another :bang: and let it go. I hope others will read the post and take it into consideration before they buy. I just didn''t really want to spend the higher amount when I saw these. I have a short memory I guess. Have to keep learning the hard way. :nono: This was the first time that I found the back lights were green from the factory.
It sounded like a cool thing to have blue dial lights anyhow. It really does get you when they knew that to begin with and still sell them and give excuses. UPR :notnice: . No more money from me thank you.

It also makes you wonder why they used green backlight for everything, knowing that people would change the MyColor. Wish they did it all in white.

I was just looking at the Steeda ***** also. Don't know about them. Since I don't have a Steeda, I don't think I want their logo on the *****. I spoke with MGW last friday about some other products for the Mustang. The nice gal there said the boss was going to add some '05 stuff soon. Looking closer at the MGW ***** on their web site, I think the dispkayed ***** are not for the '05. If the make the same style for the '05, that is what I'm going to get. Now I can't decide between the all chrome ones or the the ones with the black center. they both look nice. They also look as if they are a better quality, too.

Since Ford used geen backlighting, I don't think any other color but green will work. Even then the new ***** may be faint.

I just spoke to Julie at MGW regarding the two-tone billet A/C *****. Unfortunately they are not yet compatible with the 05. she indicated that their engineers are working to make the necessary modifications but these won't likely be ready for prime time till late February or March. Too bad too cause I was looking forward to getting them and installing them. Oh well...

Let's keep each other up to date on MGW 05 *****. They look really nice. That is what I am going to put on when they come out. Now, I just have to make up my mind between the two tone and the solids chrome ones. Oh, well  sounds like I will have time. If any one comes across any other ones that looks good, especially for the interior stuff please post it.

For those that have the UPR ***** and the problem of the illumination not showing through, I tried a" better than nothing" fix. It worked.

I took a 13/64 drill bit and drilled the blue insert from the back of the **** 5/16 inch deep.(Do not go deeper than this or else the bit will catch the UPR colored plug and remove it completely.)
This will remove some of the blue plug, but leave just enough that the finish from the front looks good. The green standard Ford illumination will show through the **** at night. However, the blue will not. During the day the **** will show the blue dot. At least there is illumination now where there was none before. As mentioned previously, you can completley remove the colored plug and let the natural green light shine through if you want. I just didn't like the vacant hole look and left the colored plug in the hole. The **** looks finished and now has illumination at night. You can porbably try this with your round plugs so you can at tleast have a setting reference point at night.

Sound like a good fix Bill.

I myself am more interested in the door locks. Does anyone have an opinion on who makes the best quality and which styles are best. I don't want some chincy design.

Thanks guys.

Nick, I bought the UPR stock style door lock pins in billet, brushed. They look very good and match the IUP of the 2005. UPR was the only ones that had what matched the original door lock pins. I was hestitant about buying again from UPR, but they do look good.

I have also been looking at the different door lock pins. I can not decide which style I like better.
