People asked, so I hunted down a better cam for a few more pics. All of these can be viewed at my gallery for the hi-res and repetitive versions.
theres quite a few, so i'll do a few of the majors.
tinted rear (limo aka 5%) and trunk lid mounted sirius antennae
rear 3/4 (sorry, best I could do in the parking lot) front side windows are 35% tint.
shot from the side to show how the tint and blacked out wheels work together
close-up of the wheel
front 3/4 to show contrast between ICAP and MG ext
nav computer in trunk under rear deck
sirius tuner in trunk above passenger rear wheel well
looking in on center console with DDX-7015 head unit
closer shot of center console with unit off and closed
unit tilted to highest operational level (6)
tilted down to eject CD
closeup of rear qtr window
let me know if theres any more pic requests of my setup, and I hope this answers some questions about fit and finish of the unit.

Thanks for the pics... nice ride. So, can you confirm... the front side windows are tinted 35%. What about the rear side and the rear? What % are those tinted?
Edit: My bad... just re-read your original post. I see the 5% now.

thanks guys.
holderca: I was nervous, but yes. It's hard to tell the fronts are even tinted from the inside. The rears are darker, but still *very* workable for visability without much compromise. I was *very* worried, as I had a limo tint on my lightning (installed prior to my purchase) and I had to open the back window a *lot*. This was not just in low light situations, and was quite annoying.
Acadian: The drivers and passenger windows are 35% ("medium") tint. The rear quarter and rear windshield are 5% ("limo") tint.
It's worth noting that my tint was done by a long time pro, with authentic lifetime 3M tint. I have a feeling this has a lot to do with the good results I got in regards to visibility.

rags: sirius tuner & ant shouldn't run more than 100 bucks combined. The headunit + nav can be found together on ebay for about $1600.
holder: we have no legal limits on rears in CA. Sides are supposed to be 70%, but the medium tint is mild enough not to draw attention. With such a contrast between the rears and front, it can pass for stock.

I know it's a little late for the wheels... I'll be honest (and to each his own) I don't really like them all black, but if just the spokes were poweder coated, I'll bet they would have looked sweetass... and if the rest of the finish were anodized a bit of a gold tint.... I'm thinkin' that would be really slick....
Anyways, you're lookin' good brutha! lovin' that Kenwood, too.

clintoris: A couple people have mentioned that I should have gone with a polished lip to set off the contrast. As the powdercoated 17"s are just to hold me over, I'm happy with how they turned out. Eventually, they'll probably get 20x10 R and 19x8.5 F of these:
anodized black with polished lip
As far as tint, I agree. Thats CA's way of saying "don't tint your front windows"

One question too... how much did you pay for the lifetime 3M tint on the sides and rear? I'm curious to know. After seeing this, I am sold on 35% all the way around... I thought it would be too dark, but looks perfect for me.

Peter: yes, the system is all stock except the kenwood and add-ons. I've got the shaker 500, but I'm sure the shaker 1000 would be fine as well. All of the kenwood's features (dual zones, crossover network, etc) and the components (the subs as well as speakers) all work as advertised. The only thing lost from the shaker headunit is 6 disc in dash (i prefer having an aux in for my ipod) and speed sensitive volume adjust (which tends to never work right).
Dustin: Unfortunately, yes. XM is possible to install on the rear deck under the window, but not sirius. It's my understanding that is due to XM relying almost entirely on sat reception, whereas the sirius is SAT + Terrestrial Repeaters.
acadian: worked out to about 150-180ish on the tint. Everything was lumped together, so I'm not sure on the exact. That said, that's on par with quotes I got from reputable shops in the area. Fair Market varies on tint, this was done in SoCal.

Sqweak,
So how does the Navi perform? Have you tested it against places you know how to get to? Do you have any clear night shots of the map screen up? Does the database include places like TGI Friday's or NFL Stadiums? Thanks!

Murray, I'm putting her back in to the shop to fix the navi (as i mentioned in other threads, installer error) weds or thurs. I'll be leaving for another trip to vegas this weekend, so I'll do a full write up on the nav functions when I get back.
The DB has been had everything I've looked for lately. Examples being "Mandalay Bay", "Wells Fargo" and a few others. I'll play with it when i drive home tonite (before/after, not during! ) and see what I can come up with.

Murray,
Interestingly enough, typing in TGI Fridays found a list of all the locals that i could navigate to
Even *more* interesting was that not only did it find Network Associates Collosieum in Oakland, but it even gave me directions to Network Associates Corporate HQ!
I was very impressed, more to come after the routing is fixed.
