Removing Shaker1000 Mounting Studs
I know some of you have been following my stereo install... ran into a hiccup.
I'm in the process of putting a JL Stealthbox in my trunk, but there are two mounting studs from the Shaker 1000 that are in it's way. Any idea how these remove?
They seem to be threaded on both sides, but don't turn freely to be able to go one direction with it.

Sounds and looks like they are welded/epoxied in place.
I suggest a Dremel with a cutting wheel, then a grinder, will remove them. Or a bolt cutter and a grinder wheel. Or a cut off wheel and then grinder. Maybe a giant pair of vice grips and a whole lot of twisting until it snaps off, then a grinder. Or, if you want to eradicate them completely the REAL way, just a grinder. That typically takes longer, but is oh so satisfying and fun to accomplish.

Turns out that they're not "anythinged" in place other than tight.
After fussing around with the bottom one and stripping it (didn't have the female torx set required), I was able to get the top one out using a later found female torx set.
I guess for the bottom one, I'll have to dremel a groove to stick a flat head in there or something.

Oh, cool. I see the reverse torx heads now. Good to know!
What you need is to get a big vice grips, clamp that sucker on there, and start your turn. It'll come right out, I bet.
But that's just a guess. Done that before though.
