recommend a DVD/indash cd player

Im looking for something with 3 outputs with sub lvl controls, 6-7in screen, ability to override the only play movies in park BS, great screen color and resolution, one that has CD AND RADIO text (display the band, song, etc), Ipod interface, touch screen. IF it has a cd changer in it, even better. Looking for one under 1200 bucks (dont need NAV). any suggestions are appreciated.

thanks

I love mine....no complaints at all. I don't think it does the regular FM text display though. Has the best iPod controller and pulsetouch screen. and its about $900.

Crutchfield is expensive, but they send you "free" kits, harnesses, and instructions/diagrams. Plus, everything is authorized with warranties, and they have by far the best service in the business. That's why I buy head units there. It seems to be the only piece I ever have break on me.

Unfortunately the very best on the market that meets your criteria is the Pioneer AVIC-Z1. I have this unit and it is AWESOME!!! It even has navigation. Best of all you can override to play and conrol everything. It looks stock in the 2006 dash and sounds great. Unfortunately, it costs $2250. You can order it for $1495 from mytaxfree.com. I ordered the unit and a two year extended warranty for $1600 shipped. Hope this helps. Good luck.

this unit offers about the most bang for your buck right now, they do and play just about everything you could want or need. im pretty sure they do everything you wanted plus they have the built in tv tuner for broadcast tv and a SD card reader so you can view jpeg, mpeg, or even play mp3's off of it the picture and sound are awsome too

I will be putting the Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD in my car within the next couple days. I think it would fit your needs to the letter, but I can give you more feedback in a couple days. I got mine from greatdeals4uonline on eBay for about $900 shipped... 14000 feedbacks with 98.9% approval. Was worried item might be used or refurbed, but it was brand new. But again, I haven't powered it up yet.. The user interface is beautiful so I am excited about getting it up and running.

I have the AVIC-N2. How do you bypass it to make everything work even while driving?

I`ve been thinking about the Alpine iva w200 ($775) or the Panasonic cqvd6503u ($669). Both have Sat radio ability and on screen I-Pod controls. Also looking to override dvd playback lockout.

Where did you find the Panasonic for 669? I'll purchase sooner instead of later!

Yep, I see it. Now I have to see which I want more- CAI/SCT2 or a new head. Probably go with the CAI since my current Panasonic works just fine. Thanks for the info.

Who`s installation kit is that? It looks like it sticks out quite a bit. Otherwise how happy are you with the unit and do you have any extras like the sat radio or i-pod connector?

Is you screen tilted out or is the whole unit sticking out that far? Looks like 1/4"-1/2"

Not much changes when you travel to the same place, it keeps the kids busy. It is not for the driver anyway, or at least I HOPE not.
