Bill, I like that mount, but it seems like it would take up a lot of visual real estate.

I have the same radar detector, and absolutely love it. But, I just keep mine just above the dash on the windshield. That way, it is tucked up out of the way. Unfortunately, I can't use it in the good ol state of VA, which is why I need to be able to take it off quickly once I cross the border.

Mike, it's not that bad at all (outward view). I moved the cylinder post up and pivoted the mirror down, thus effectively moving the whole mirror/radar up. There's one detector mount which hangs down further than the type I have, now that would bother me.

I was thinking of these along the top of the windshield ? what do you think cool huh !
