Rear quarter panel speakers?
For the life of me, I can't find this information anywhere. What size are the rear quarter panel speakers?
Prior knowledge on the 8 speaker Shaker 500 system counted the mid/tweeter in the front door as 2 seperate speakers. But, no mention of the rear quarters.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

I'm not 100% sure but I think that speaker is only for the convertibles. Regular coupes don't have that rear quarter panel speaker.

OK I am lost now, are there two speakers in the 6x8 area of the front door then, or is it one speaker with a mid and tweeter combined and they jsut call it two speakers?

In a Coupe there are 2 in the rear deck a 5X7 or 6X8 will fit in the hole, nothing in the quarter panel. In the doors there are enclosures the same size as the speakers in the rear deck. These house a mid and a tweeter in these holes. Then there are the 2, 8 inch subs in the doors. That is a total of 8 for the shaker 500.

Well, from what I gather, the coupes have the rear deck speakers and the verts have the quarter panel speakers.
I think the coupes and verts share the same quarter panel.
If you're re-wiring your car (coupes only), it does give 1 more area to mount another set of speakers!

Try searching it may take a minute or two. I know there was a pdf of the Door panel removal on here somewhere. I used it when I replaced my speakers.
Here you go hope this helps.

Thank you, just what I needed.
Unfortunately my searches never produce what I need

For the record - I was at a Ford dealer today and check out a Vert. That is the answer - the interior trim panel for the quarter is different, and it has a grille, and the speaker's behind there on the vert's only.

Well that's it, question answered.
Thanks John.
