question; center console auxilary jack in 07's

To anyone who's replaced your head unit on your 07 stang, were you able to keep your 3.5mm jack functional?....and if so, was there splicing involved or did you have to replace the whole line??...i'm pretty sure its not a simple RCA type connection on the other end...Pioneer avic-z1 to be installed upon arrival of my gt/cs (2 more weeks!!!) and it would be a shame to lose it.

Bumping this back up, I'm curious if anyone knows how to reuse it for an after market system. All I need for mine is to be able to wire it up to a 1/8 headphone jack on the other side. Installer has my car torn apart now, and we found the jack has a 6 pin molex connector going to it with no clue what pins do what.

Heres a pic inside the console, you can see the aux in next to the 12v power port.

I thought that's what that was. What do you use it for? An Ipod?

Looks like he may have a carputer installed, judging from the USB mouse and tiny keyboard in the center console...

Yeah, I think that's a carputer setup, there's a thread about it somewhere around here.

Yeah, I have a carputer, the Infill G4. Ended up getting the aux in working by doing multimeter reads into the aux in port, and now have it working again.

Still working out some kinks in both the carputer install and some other work, but once it is all done (probably end of august), I'll post a full writeup on it all here.

The USB hub is a USB Squid from Radio Shack. The 4 ports can all seperate and be arranged however you want. Ended up joining them all together and molding into the stock panel that came with the car there.

That sounds cool. Do you have a link to the Infill G4? Sounds like that could be pretty cool!

Never mind, I searched and found the info. Looks cool, but pricey!
