Pioneer Single DIN Install & Problems

Had an old Pioneer deck with USB sitting around, so I decided to install it in place of my shaker 1000 and take advantage of my ipod. Well install went smooth except for the sub pop (heading out for a resistor soon) and ground noise.

I have no idea how the ground noise is getting in, I thought that was only for aftermarket systems, but sure enough the alternator whine is there, gets louder with the gas and everything. Any idea how I would tackle getting it out? This isn't a problem with my stock 1000 head unit, just this aftermarket one. It's just is a 100% stock shaker 1000 system, with the new Pioneer head unit.

Thoughts?

I did the same thing. I have a DEH500UB Premeir model from a few years ago. I have the same problem with the door sub pop lol. What exactly are you doing to fix that?

As far as the noise goes what are you using as a ground for the HU? I used a bolt for the frame behinnd where the radio is at and havent had any issues with noise.

I'm using the ground from the harness on mine. Connect ground on the harness to ground on the Pioneer, then plug it into the factory plugs.

The grounds from the harness are usually not very good. For me that has almost always led to noise problems. Grounding it to the chasis gives a much better result.
