As for enhancing, I always noticed a better difference. Never once heard stattic on SAT...yet Just one of the reasons I miss it in this ride. If u never had it, you'll never want to loose once U get it ...IMO

Mine shipped yesterday and is scheduled for delivery the 12th.

Is this something I can just plug in the back of my stereo or do I have to pay someone $48/hour to pull apart my interior to get working.

 

I got both of mine today - one for the GT, one for the '04 F-150 - and install appears to be very simple. You'll need to hook one wire to 12V constant and one to ground. Then you just plug it into the head unit and plug your XM, Sirius or iPod into the adapter. In my case, I have an XM Commander already in each vehicle. No more crappy FM modulator!

 

Now I'm assuming that if I don't know where to hook the two wires to (where I hook to 12V constant, and where I should ground it), that I should have someone do it for me?

Or is it as simple as someone telling me specifically where these wires should hook into? (for example, is there any splicing involved, etc.)

I'd rather try to figure this out myself if it's pretty easy, instead of paying some local car shop hack to take apart the car for 5 minutes of work).

Any help would be appreciated.

For 12V constant, I tapped into the wire that runs through the console to the 12V power point in the console compartment.

I grounded on the bolt that sticks up from the floorboard under the head unit. You'll see it when you pull the panel that surrounds the head unit. It's behind the climate controls and I think it holds the airbag module to the floor.

No need to cut any wires - you can use 3M splice connectors that crimp onto both the tap wire and new wire. Home Depot or Radio Shack can hook you up.

I tapped into the same wire that you did (power wire to the 12-volt plug in the center console), and grounded in the same place as well (one of the bolts on the floor underneath the radio).

Now I plug my iPod into the 12-volt in the center console... perfect!

Worked out great

The sound quality is incredible... no more FM modulator static
