AVIC-D3 Installed
Got a call this afternoon from my car audio dealer that the new Pioneer AVIC-D3 navigation system was in, drove over and had it installed. WOW it looks and works fanstastic.
Will post pics as soon as I can

The sound is great using the stock speakers, but you have to buy an adapter to receive sirus radio. Another mod I have to save for
Still learning how to use it so I'll post more as I go along.

Thanks for the response. That is a good price with installation, cables, and harness.
You said it sounded great with the stock speakers in your original post. I have a couple additional questions if you don't mind.

- Did you originally have the Shaker 500/1000 or the "base" stereo?
- What are the primary sonic differences between the way it originally sounded versus now with the D3? Better mid range, bass, highs, clarity, smoothness, all the above?
- If you did orginally have one of the shaker stereos, do you have any "pop" in the subs when you power the system on?

I had the original shaker 500, IMO the sound is better now than with the shaker 500 but I have to be careful because you can really pump up the volume with the nav unit, hope I don't blow the speakers *L* I had no popping. I even mentioned it to the installer and told him that it might need a voltage regulator. He hooked it up and when we tested it, it sounded great. It's been two days now and no popping. hope this answers your questions.

Yep. That answers my questions and thanks for the quick reply. Man, I'm going to blame you when my wife gets mad at me.
We are going down for Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach and I have been considering putting some sound deadening in the car along with a new head unit/nav unit prior to the trip. I am really liking the features for the price of this unit. I think I am going to have to buy one of these now.

Oops. I forgot to ask one more question in my last post. Do you have to be stopped or slowed down to use certain navigation features or did they bypass this "feature"?
OK, I will leave you alone now...
